Our fledgling crew is still in the formative stages.  When fully formed and incorporated, the Weiser Support Crew will be a non-profit organization which will actively seek donations to support their efforts.  We will be available for call-up to support wildfire suppression efforts anywhere in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  As an incorporated support crew, we will be eligible for State and Federal grant money as well as the Federal Excess program.

Current Status

 1.  We are now officially incorporated and are known as the Weiser Wildland Firefighters, Inc. 

 2.  Our membership is now up to 19 members with about 6 more pending.  New members are:

  •     Francis "Lukey" Lukasevich - Jim Thorpe

  •     Steve Barrett - Frackville

  •     John Breznik - Ringtown

  •     Joe Gilbert, Sr. - Ringtown

  •     Glenn Kern - Fredericksburg

  •     Renay Pekera - Ringtown

 3.  Our officers are:

  •      President - Ronnie Freeman - Tremont

  •      Secretary - Anthony Kaufmann - Pine Grove

  •      Treasurer - Ben Readinger - Pine Grove

        Directors:

  •      Steve Barrett - Frackville

  •      John Breznik - Ringtown

  •      Dave Duffy - Tamaqua

  •      Tyler Kerstetter - Harrisburg

  •      Kevin Schaeffer - Pine Grove

  •      Carl Yoder, Jr. - Sunbury

 4.  Non-profit status is the next item on the agenda, and info has been sent to our attorney to begin the filing process.
